CREATIVITY IS MAGIC

  • I want you to remember the acronym M.A.G.I.C.

M STANDS FOR MINDSET

  • Think about what your attitudes and assumptions about creativity are. Do you believe it’s possible for you to be creative? That you deserve to be creative?
  • The two most powerful words in the English language are the shortest ones: I am. Whatever you put after that statement is going to be the focus of your life.
  • You are creative. Say it out loud. Notice how that statement makes you feel.
  • If it doesn’t feel like creativity fits your current identity, that’s okay.
  • You all have genius inside of you. You have the ability to be creative.
  • One of the LIE’s to dispel is that you’re either born with creativity, or you’re not. This is absolutely not true.
  • Creativity is not born, it’s built. You discover creativity; you develop it through work.
  • One of the things we teach at Kwik Brain is to turn nouns into verbs.
  • Words have power. When you wake up and say ‘I can’t be creative’, you put yourself in a trance through the words you use.
  • We want you to transcend — trance end, end the trance. A lot of which is self-induced.
  • Be aware of your self-talk, and be aware of your limiting beliefs. Self-awareness is a superpower.
  • You don’t have creativity, you DO creativity.

A STANDS FOR ASK

  • Questions are the answers.
  • When you ask a question, it focuses your mind on something brand new. That’s why questions are so important.
  • If you want to get an answer no one’s ever gotten before, ask a question no one’s ever asked before. Things like, how can I be more creative? What am I not paying attention to right now?
  • A big part of creativity is putting two things back together, and creating something brand new.
  • What two elements can you connect together to create something that wasn’t there before?
  • How can you be more innovative? How can you work within your team to express more creativity?
  • Can you teach something in a new way? Or how do you want people to feel?
  • All of these questions are going to lead to brand new answers in creativity.

G STANDS FOR GOALS

  • We’ve done multiple episodes on the power of goal setting and goal getting.
  • Set goals that are creative.
  • What are your goals to be more creative and how are you setting them up?
  • Ask if they’re S.M.A.R.T. and if they also have H.E.A.R.T.
  • You can reference Limitless to refresh how to set goals that are logical and emotional.
  • A goal is really just a target, which gives your brain clarity.
  • Clarity becomes power.
  • Are you going to write for thirty minutes a day? Play music for thirty minutes?
  • Be specific to the outcome that you want to create.
  • Almost everything in your life was once created in someone’s mind.
  • It starts in your head, then it moves through your heart, and into your hands.
  • Setting your creative goals actually uses your own creativity.
  • Write down your goals.
  • Writing down your creative goals takes something invisible and makes it visible.
  • Hand writing them is even more powerful.
  • Studies show when you hand write something, it becomes more personal. And your creative goals are personal.
  • Use your creativity to help reach your goals.
  • Make a PowerPoint or Keynote montage of your goals.
  • Have a vision board and a gratitude board.
  • A vision board helps your subconscious focus on the goal and the steps to achieve them.
  • As you reach your creative goals, move them to your gratitude board.
  • Remember, you don’t have to wait for a greater life to feel grateful, feel grateful and you’ll have a greater life.

I STANDS FOR IMAGINATION

  • Knowledge is what is, but imagination is what could be.
  • Creativity is imagination in action.
  • Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is more powerful than knowledge.”
  • He would often engage in thought experiments, using his imagination to think of new ideas.
  • Part of using his imagination was asking new questions. What would that clock look like if you were riding on a beam of light heading towards the clock?
  • Once he accessed his imagination, he’d use his knowledge to help create new answers.
  • His knowledge of science and math gave him the acumen to create new formulas.
  • How can you cultivate your imagination for greater creativity?

C STANDS FOR CARE

  • The most powerful creativity tool on planet Earth, in the known universe, is your brain.
  • Creativity stems from the power of your limitless mind.
  • Care for your mind.
  • All the things we talk about in our podcast, our videos, our app, our Limitless book are how to take care of your brain.
  • Get good sleep, eat nutritious food. If you’re not sleeping well, how creative are you going to be the next day?
  • Exercise is a great way to be more creative because as the body moves the brain grooves.
  • A lot of times we can unlock creativity by moving our bodies.
  • A stuck body leads to a stuck mind, and a stagnant body leads to a stagnant mind.
  • Moving your body in new ways can help your brain think differently too.
